Terms of service

Effective 20 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Thetical, the assistant you talk to in a messaging app, and its web app at thetical.co. By using Thetical you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Who can use Thetical

You must be 18 or older and live in a country where we and our providers may offer the service. Thetical is in private beta: access is by invitation and features may change.

What Thetical does, and what you approve

Your account

Acceptable use

Don't use Thetical to break the law, harm others, send spam or harassment, access accounts that aren't yours, get around its safety checks, overload it, or resell it. We may limit or end access for misuse, and we may set usage limits to keep the service fair and affordable.

Third-party services

Thetical works with services you connect (such as Google and Microsoft) and providers that help run it. Their own terms apply to your use of them. We aren't responsible for their availability or actions.

Price

Thetical is free during the beta. Thetical earns nothing from merchants today; if that ever changes, paid recommendations will be labeled Sponsored, with the best unpaid option shown next to them. We will tell you before any change to pricing.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Thetical running, but it is provided as is, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features, and we will tell you in your chat before material changes to these terms.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Thetical isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by actions you approved, by third-party services, or by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Ending

You can stop using Thetical and delete your account at any time with /delete_account. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
